The following is from "The Kingman and Ordronaux Families" by Leroy Wilson Kingman: "A Kingman memorial association was organized at the United States hotel in Boston, Mass., 8 Dec., 1888, of which Hosea Kingman, of Bridgewater, Mass., was chosen president. Under the auspices of this association there was a gathering of about four hundred of the descendants of Henry Kingman at Brockton, Mass., on July 8, 1890, the day being the two hundred and fifth anniversary of the landing of Henry Kingman in America. A reception in the morning was followed by a banquet at noon, with after dinner speeches, and in the afternoon a monument, erected to the memory of Henry and Joanna Kingman in the Union cemetary, was unveiled.
