«Caleb entered the Revolutionary War in 1776 at the age of 16. He was assigned to Captain Benjamin Rice's company of Washington Co., PA Militia and served one month at Jackson's Fort under Captain Charles Craft/Crawaft as a private. He enlisted again in 1777 for a 6 month tour as a substitute for his brother Daniel Goble in Captain James Brinton's company, Colonel Crawford's regiment, and assisted in building Forts McIntosh and Laurens, after which he served as an Indian Spy at various times until the close of the war, approximately 6 years. This service took place at Lindley's Fort in Washington Co., PA, much of the time.» attributed to Evelyn Goble Steen.Genitori :
